ABOUT US

mindy jo Gilmore
As a child, I negotiated with foremen at construction sites for 2x4s to build and deck our tree forts. I spent all daylight outside with my siblings in the woods and garden. I grew up to study environmental science and chemistry at Western Washington University.
Land brought us to Tennessee and love brought me to renovation.
Chris' talents enabled me to indulge my love of design. We renovated and landscaped our own homes with all manners of color, tile, stone, hardwood flooring, custom built-ins, even basalt pillar fountains.
I will assist you with design, prepare materials, arrange orders, collaborating trades; everything to ensure smooth timing and minimal inconvenience. I am also Chris' partner in tile so we design, fabricate and install together for your tile installation.
We will be launching candles and a home and garden line of goods from our farm this Spring. Our website link and location will be posted here soon! We will also embark on our guesthouse renovation and chronicle our build on the website. The home was made out of timbers recycled from old Clarskville army barracks. We look forward to preserving the legacy and utility of old as we deliver modern, farmhouse style.
Chris Gilmore
Chris has over 10 years experience in residential construction and renovation. His love of craftsmanship began early in the wood shop with his grandfather. He grew up in rural Pennsylvania, baling hay in the summers and helping his grandpa build traditional toys and furniture to sell at the local apple festival “Pippinfest”.
In his grandfather’s and father’s footsteps, he enlisted in the United States Navy (we met during his station in Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico). He served in the gulf for Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom
.
After his second tour of duty, Chris returned to civilian life to pursue his boyhood passion for building and design. For several years, he built and renovated homes; learning many aspects of the trades. After installing tile and stone for over a thousand kitchens and baths, Chris decided to start his own company and offer complete renovation services. Shortly after, he completed his Associate's degree in Drafting and Design. He is the owner, the foreman and there for every job.
Late in the summer of 2013, we discovered what we had been looking for since our arrival in Tennessee: our farm. Located on beautiful Johnson’s Creek in Dickson County, we knew it was the one before we ever exited the car. We added an adjacent parcel last year to create more trails and a future guesthouse for all the enjoy! We have a menagerie of rescued animals and a woodshop Chris’ grandpa Pappy would be proud of.
